Getting ready to print third color layer
This layer was a hard one. I try to hold a mental image of what I intend as I’m working. There were lots of opportunities to get distracted and/or lost in this layer. I do graphite rubbings of the linoleum block as I work to get a better idea of what it might look like.…

Second layer printed. Moving on.
It was a printing day today. I feel accomplished when I look at all those prints hanging on the drying line. Tomorrow I’ll take a fresh look at what I’ve done and wonder, “what to do now?!!” The learning curve continues.

New space print is underway
The first color layer of a new print is printed and hanging on the drying line. The first layer is usually the easiest for me. Now for hard thinking and more cutting. I have an idea where I want the print to go but things change as I begin cutting.

Roseate spoonbill
I saw this roseate spoonbill hanging out in the aviary at Gladys Porter Zoo in Brownsville, TX. We were both leaning into it. My wife and I go to the zoo to draw from time to time.
